Three Wise Plants: Bakuchiol, Frankincense & Myrrh

A modern take on an ancient trio. Inspired by the gifts of the Three Wise Men, this slow-infused oil brings together bakuchiol, frankincense, and myrrh—plants known for their rejuvenating and skin-healing qualities. Designed for use on the face, neck, décolletage, or whole body.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Freeze and grind the resins.
  2. Combine with jojoba + castor oil in a clean jar.
  3. Infuse for 3–4 weeks in a warm spot, shaking every few days.
  4. Strain, then stir in bakuchiol.

Adding Bakuchiol

This recipe makes 400 ml infused base oil. Add bakuchiol at 0.5–2% of the total:

0.5% = 2 ml (≈ ½ tsp) → gentle, ideal for sensitive skin or full-body use

1% = 4 ml (≈ 1 tsp) → balanced, suitable for most skin types

2% = 8 ml (≈ 1½ tsp) → potent, best for targeted areas (e.g. face, neck, décolletage)

Start at 1% for general use, then adjust future batches depending on your skin’s response.

How To Use

Massage into clean skin — morning or evening — on the face, neck, décolletage, or body. Use daily or as needed. Shelf life: 6–9 months.

Why It Works

Bakuchiol — a plant-derived alternative to retinol. Contains phenolic antioxidants that protect against free radical damage while smoothing fine lines, evening tone, and improving firmness — without the irritation or sun-sensitivity often caused by retinol.

Frankincense — contains boswellic acids that inhibit enzymes driving inflammation and incensole acetate that protects against oxidative stress. Together they help preserve collagen and elastin, keeping skin firm and structured.

Myrrh — concentrated in terpenes and sesquiterpenes that deliver strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. These compounds accelerate tissue repair, stimulate new cell growth, and strengthen the skin’s barrier function, making it more resilient against damage.

A simple, effective formulation where ancient botanical wisdom meets modern evidence-based skincare research, harnessing natural compounds for repair and renewal.
